IHSPA’s Fall Conference is Thursday October 24, 2019 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City. Mark your calendar. More details in early September. We have more than 40 sessions schedule for the conference.

Our keynote speaker is Seung-Min Kim. Kim, a graduate of Iowa City West is a White House reporter for The Washington Post, covering the Trump administration through the lens of Capitol Hill. Before joining The Washington Post in 2018, she spent more than eight years at Politico, primarily covering the Senate and immigration policy. Kim is also an on-air contributor to CNN. @seungminkim


SPJ/Facebook Journalism Project

Also, we will be hosting a two hour session The SPJ/Facebook Journalism Project that shows journalists how to best use Facebook and Instagram to connect with audiences, find content and build communities.


Registration fee updated

We need to encourage advisers to register earlier so we have new pricing for student registrations.

  • $16 – early registration – until Sept 27
  • $20 – regular registration – until October 11
  • $25 – late registration

Registration for advisers is free as long as you bring students. If not pay like you are a student.
