Jack Kennedy is Iowa’s newest scholastic journalism mentor.
Kennedy, an Iowa City native, is president of the Journalism Education Association, director of the Colorado High School Press Association and an adjunct instructor at Metropolitan State College of Denver, as well as a longtime high school newspaper and yearbook adviser.
JEA’s mentoring program is designed to offer support and guidance to new high school journalism advisers. There is no charge to the adviser. The mentor is paid by the Iowa High School Press Association.
A notice about becoming a 2010-11 mentee will be delivered in the next 10 days.
Kennedy is IHSPA/JEA’s second state mentor, joining Gary Lindsay of John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids.
