Emma Kinney, the Indianola High School adviser, was recently awarded the Rising Star Award from the Journalism Education Association.
The Rising Star Award is given to advisers are within their first five years of advising a media program and show dedication to scholastic journalism.
At last year’s Fall Conference, Emma and her students earned a Yearbook of the Year award.
