Congratulations to Pleasant Valley’s Jae Jepsen for winning the 2024 Student Journalist Impact Award! Jepsen covered the local school board election over four articles after noticing the lack of information from the local news about the election.
Jae is a senior at Pleasant Valley High School & the Editor-in-Chief for the Spartan Shield Online. Maureen Dyer is the advisor for both yearbook and news at PV High School.
The award recognizes a secondary school student who has made a significant difference in the lives of others through journalism. The award is co-sponsored by the Journalist Education Association and Quill & Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists.
